Family Math Night at Crockett

Crockett Elementary held their annual Family Math Night on Oct. 27. The night was full of spooky and fun math games, a haunted hallway, pumpkin decorating and a costume contest.  This was a great night for the students and their families to have fun while playing math games.  The teachers were able to interact and demonstrate math skills that can make learning fun and be duplicated at home to support the child's learning. Everyone enjoyed the games, candy and the snack bar.

De Zavala District Diamond

SMCISD recognizes Jesse Avila as the November District Diamond from De Zavala Elementary.

Jessie has many years of custodial experience, as he formerly worked at Travis Elementary for 16 years and is now at De Zavala.

He is a wonderful face to see every morning as students come in. Always greeting everyone with a smile and a very cheerful “Good morning!” You never see him without his smile.  He does an outstanding job in keeping the campus looking its best. He is a proud veteran, and De Zavala loves having him on the campus.
