High School Softball: Lady Rattlers clobber Alamo Heights for another run-ruled victory

Alamo Heights could not have played San Marcos at a worse time.

The Lady Rattlers showcased all of the team’s strengths, highlighted by 13 hits during Tuesday night’s 13-1 five inning win over the visiting Mules.

Just a week prior, San Marcos (16-3, 10-1 District 27-5A) was dealt a major wakeup call by Seguin and the players don’t want to experience that again.

San Marcos put some money where its mouth is.
Well, almost.
After the Rattlers run ruled Lockhart in their previous game, Brandon Miranda said he wouldn’t be surprised if his team did the same thing against Seguin. San Marcos finished one run shy of triggering said rule, but still recorded a 7-0 victory over the Matadors last Friday night.

Their junior season didn’t end the way it was supposed to.
After San Marcos’ regional finals run in 2014, its goal was always to emulate that and earn the school’s first state finals berth since 1996. Instead, it was Georgetown who celebrated in the area finals after its 7-3 upset over the Lady Rattlers last season at Del Valle High School.
