College Football: Mississippi State's Damian Williams headed to Texas State

Head coach Everett Withers likely has his signal caller for next season.

Mississippi State junior quarterback Damian Williams will join the Bobcats in January, the Daily Record has learned. Williams will enroll as a graduate transfer and will be immediately eligible for the 2017 season.

Williams, who traveled with Mississippi State to the St. Petersburg Bowl and stepped in for one snap during the fourth quarter, announced his intentions to transfer for his final season via Instagram before the Egg Bowl on Nov. 26.

College Football: Printz signs with Italian football team

The idea of Texas State starting a true freshman quartebrack in 2017 became more likely over the weekend.

Junior transfer quarterback Eddie Printz chose to forgo his upcoming senior season and signed a deal to play with Italian football club, Guelfi Firenzea on Dec. 7.

Features: Tyler Jones' unfinished legacy

The ceiling for senior quarterback Tyler Jones’ career seemed endless after 2014.

He debuted as a feisty freshman, but Jones’ true coming out party was his sophomore campaign during which he threw for 2,670 yards, 22 touchdowns to just seven interceptions and added 539 yards on the ground. He seemed destined to shatter school records by the time his career wrapped up.
