Lions Club is invaluable

Letter to the Editor

Editor,

The Hays County Child Protective Board would like to thank the San Marcos Noon Lions for their support over the last six years. HCCPB, an all-volunteer board appointed by the County Commissioners Court, is charged with helping neglected and abused children who are in the care of Child Protective Services, by funding needs not met by the State of Texas; emergency clothing and medical needs, car seats and cribs, driver’s training, and much more. Often, we also are able to fund request that enable these children to enjoy some of the extras that their peers enjoy: field trips, summer camps, laptop computers, athletic equipment, musical instruments. In the last six years, the San Marcos Noon Lions have donated a total of $20,000 for abused and neglected children in our country. They have made it possible for us to help hundreds of children, and we appreciate their generous support.
