Meeting in Lockhart will examine wastewater issues

Staff Reports

Staggering growth isn’t limited to Hays County. Big projects are underway next door in Caldwell County too, and as farms and ranches give way to housing developments, concepts like “smart growth” and “sustainable land management” come to the fore.

To help residents keep up with what’s coming and how to deal with it, the Plum Creek Watershed Partnership will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. on Feb. 9 at the Lockhart State Park Recreation Hall.

Dinner will be provided free, courtesy of the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA).

Council, P&Z to hold joint meeting Monday

The San Marcos City Council and Planning & Zoning Commission will attend a joint workshop Monday focused on Code SMTX the city’s new development code. This is the first of two joint meetings that will be held before both bodies consider approving it.

The proposal aims to streamline the development process, move development away from neighborhoods and the San Marcos River, protect existing neighborhood character and attract affordable high-quality projects.
