Three killed in Friday collision on RR 12

Three people were killed in a three-car collision on Ranch Road 12 Friday night.

DPS Trooper Robbie Barrera identified them as Ramiro Ramirez, 22, of Wimberley, Angela Mary Masullo, 40, of Wimberley and Daniel Stuart Masullo, 44 of Wimberley.

Elizabeth Kay Richter, 63, of New Braunfels was treated and released. Two other passengers were transported to South Austin Medical Center and Barrera said their conditions are unknown.

It occurred at approximately 8:09 p.m. 3 miles out of San Marcos.

Barrera said a 2006 NIssan Titan with Ramirez at the wheel was traveling northbound on Ranch Road 12 while a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Richter and a 2007 Lincoln driven by Mary Masullo were southbound. Ramirez was driving on the wrong side of the road when he hit the Chevrolet on its left rear quarter panel. The
Chevrolet then spun 180 degrees and skidded along the guardrail before coming to a stop. The Nissan continued in the southbound lane and hit the Lincoln head-on.

The Nissant caught fire after it came to a stop, while the Lincoln was pushed backwards and came to a final stop on top of a guardrail.

Justice of the Peace Andrew Cauble pronounced Ramirez and the Masullos dead at the scene.
