David Hamilton is officially headed to Texas.

The deadline for players to sign with the organization that selected them in June’s MLB First Year Player Draft was last Friday.

The Daily Record confirmed that Hamilton, a former shortstop at San Marcos, did not sign with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Angels picked Hamilton in the 28th round, but he will instead honor his college commitment to the University of Texas. The news was first reported by Travis Recek of Time Warner Sports.
