College Football: Mississippi State's Damian Williams headed to Texas State

Head coach Everett Withers likely has his signal caller for next season.

Mississippi State junior quarterback Damian Williams will join the Bobcats in January, the Daily Record has learned. Williams will enroll as a graduate transfer and will be immediately eligible for the 2017 season.

Williams, who traveled with Mississippi State to the St. Petersburg Bowl and stepped in for one snap during the fourth quarter, announced his intentions to transfer for his final season via Instagram before the Egg Bowl on Nov. 26.

NFL: Brett Elliott ready to watch Dak Prescott's NFL debut

It's tough to say for certain whether or not Texas State offensive coordinator Brett Elliott saw a future NFL starting quarterback in Dak Prescott during his first season as an assistant at Mississippi State in 2012, but he definitely saw the maturity.

Today against the New York Giants, Prescott makes his NFL regular season debut as the Dallas Cowboys' starter in place of Tony Romo who went down with a broken bone in his back he suffered during the preseason.
