Ybarra graduates basic training

Air Force Airman Leslie A. Ybarra graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. She is a 2008 graduate of San Marcos High School.

Gonzales: District must manage growth

Danny Gonzales was co-chair of the successful recent school bond election committee and it was from that experience that he decided to run for the school board this May.
“During the bond election I got to work with people in the district and to get to know even more people in our community. I felt I could make a difference,” he said.

 

Narvaiz: Developing relationships key

If elected to the San Marcos CISD Board of Trustees on May 10, Naomi Narvaiz says her first priority will be to seek more parent involvement in the schools and to push for more “transparency and accountability.”
“With parents, it’s all about relationships. We need to communicate with them and give them a reason to be more involved in our schools,” Narvaiz said.
