Obituary

Please direct obituary requests and questions to Anita Miller, managing editor, at amiller@sanmarcosrecord.com. While SMDR does work with multiple funeral homes in the area to issue obituaries and death notices, the pricing is as follows:

• Death Notice - No Cost
• Death Notice with a photo - $15
• Up to 300 words with a photo - $84
• Between 301 to 600 words with a photo - $168
• Between 601 to 900 words with a photo - $252

For obituaries , please contact Anita Miller. A death notice includes the person's name, where they resided, date and place of birth and death and service information. Obituaries give that information as well, but can also include a list of survivors and a discussion of the person's life. The request deadline for obituaries is 2 p.m. on Monday for Tuesday's edition, 2 p.m.on Tuesday for Wednesday's edition, 2 p.m. on Wednesday for Thursday's edition, 2 p.m. on Thursday for Friday's edition and 4 p.m. on Friday for Sunday's edition. The obituary should appear in the online edition posted at 6 a.m. the day of publication.  

Please note that all obituaries must be paid for prior to publication and that we do not send tearsheets for obituaries. Payment can be made by calling 512-392-2458.
